Better Late Than Never

Our (year old) computer monitor decided to die on us a couple weeks ago which wasn't the greatest thing at the time. It just so happened to die right in the middle of work, sewing projects, Straton's Father's Day gift and a birthday present for a family member. All things that were on my computer and I had no way of getting to. So we're a little late on wishing Straton a Happy Father's Day.

Straton really is amazing help when it comes to raising Oaklen. If I need him, he's right there.
I could sit and watch him play with Oaklen all day long. It makes me look at Straton in a whole new way.
Straton's parents did such a wonderful job raising him. I hope Oaklen learns to be just like his Daddy. We love you so much Straton! I hope you feel like an amazing father, because you're becoming one day after day.

To my Dad:
Thank you for being the best father and example to me. You've always been close to me, even at those times you didn't feel or see it. I've always looked up to you in so many ways. Words can't express how much I love you. I don't think there is a better father out there. I'll always be your "little boy". =)

New Findings

I'm truly not a fan of thumb sucking. The main reason being that it's easier to wean a baby off a pacifier than their own thumb, obviously. For some reason though, I find it incredibly cute when little babies do it. I think watching their mouths suck away is the funniest part about it. So naturally, I couldn't help but laugh when I found Oaklen like this today:

He's been doing it all day! I think he's just discovered his thumb and that he'll forget about it tomorrow. Another part of me is telling me to get his thumb out before he DOES remember what he's doing.

Anybody else have a thumb sucker? Is it a phase, or did it start out like this?

In My Spare Time

I recently got photoshop CS5  on my computer, and I can't stop playing! This is what I do with my "me" time, most of the time. A picture that would take me a half hour to fix now takes me 5 minutes. I just had to give you a glimpse of what I can do with it.

Cousins

Oaklen's 10th cousin was born May 26th and I can't wait to get my hands on him! Is it possible to be baby hungry when you have a baby?!

And it was this sweet little girl's birthday, June 2nd. I can't believe she's 7 years old!!

Siera's Graduation

Last night was Siera's graduation, and we all went out to Texas Roadhouse to celebrate. It was also Siera's best friend's last night in Utah. Julie lives in Norway and was an exchange student for the school year. Her family came to pick her up and take her home, so they celebrated with us as well. I could barely pronounce their names. I'm not going to try and spell them out.

Julie's dad, Julie's step-mom, Julie's little brother. Good enough.

Of course we had to have Julie and Siera on the saddle, because whats a celebration at Roadhouse without it?
